how sitting effect's the spine
sitting put’s pressure on the spine

well that could not be more true we are designed to move and with today’s generation is surrounded by  Tv and video game’s and that is a deadly combination and could cause cancer  I’ll explain why. a new study by the mayo clinic might help us in understanding why and how this is changing our body’s

A couple years ago, a Mayo Clinic doctor wrote something that scared the living heck out of people.
According to Dr. James Levine, “Sitting is the new smoking, kills more people than HIV, and is more treacherous than parachuting…”

“We are sitting ourselves to death.”

Whoa.
For people who sit behind a desk all day, this is not exactly good news. And it got a TON of headlines. But is he right? Or is it slightly more complicated?
And what about this…If you stand at your desk… is that better?

Let’s break down Dr. Levine’s statement piece-by-piece and see.
First, is sitting “the new smoking?” Um, no.Yes, sitting all day is not good. Lack of activity is linked to all kinds of health issues.

Too many to list here…But smoking causes almost 20% of the deaths in the U.S… Strips as much as 16 years off your life. And is the leading cause of preventable death in the world. Sitting isn’t great, but it’s not that bad. Second sitting “kills more people than HIV.”

This may be directly true, but that’s mostly because of advancements in treatment. Today we have turned HIV into a mostly manageable disease with dramatically more positive outcomes than we had in the 80’s.
Third, and most ridiculous… sitting is “more treacherous than parachuting.” Ok, sure. But less than two dozen people die skydiving annually.

Not a very useful comparison, but it sure sounds scary…
It turns out that it’s not necessarily sitting that’s the issue. A more recent study showed that holding the same position for long periods is the problem.
So standing all day is no better, and can actually be worse.

If you’re in a job that requires a lot of sitting, just be sure to get up and walk around regularly. Pace when you’re on the phone. If you’ve got to have a meeting with someone, suggest you do it outside, walking And drink a lot of water. At the very least, you’ll have to get up regularly to go to the bathroom!

So sitting isn’t as bad as smoking, let’s get that straight And if you’re looking for the new “smoking” as a danger to your health, you could choose the hundreds of toxic chemicals that surround us.

hello , my name is mike I live in RI and been here my whole life never really ventured out other than a few state's like Maine,Texas, mass, conn, new jersey, Chicago that about it, I started tinkering around with small engines and just figure out how they come apart go back together and try to understand how they work. well it turn's from weed wacker's to lawn mower's to mini bike's then dirt bike's to on and off road motorcycle's then car engine's eventually truck's and diesel tow truck's, learned how to paint car's, so after wanting to get out of the fixing vehicles I moved on to learning about construction. started out as a laborer then apprentice to carpenter then finish carpenter, eventually I ended up with a good wood working company working to be better all the time and improve are skill's and ability to be the best. I was considered a perfectionist but really I was just doing whatever it took to make my work perfect like the way I'd want it if I was paying $50hr sometimes, just wanting the home owner to feel respect for their home and project. well I was the hardest worker out there put 125% in all the time and I'm not kidding I'd run circles around people but that did not get me anywhere yeah people knew me as a hard worker but that went down the drain in 2016 when I injured my back lifting 75-100lb garbage bag's down 3 flight's of stair's into a 30yd dumpster, ended up having a protruding disc pushing on the nerve which would lead me to surgery after that didn't help a reprovision surgery was done. I'm still having problem's everyday and the Doctor's want to put hardware in my spine screw's and a titanium cage to help keep the disc from pushing on the nerve and stop that from recurring, so I wanted to try and help other's in their own pain battle, thanks ,mike
